Learning to let go of emotional baggage is one of the most powerful things I've done to heal.
What is “tapping” anyway?
Think of it as acupuncture for the emotions (without the needles).
In 2009, I learned about Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), also known as “tapping”. When I was experiencing an extreme state of anxiety (10/10), I found a therapist who specialized in EFT, something I had never heard of. It sounded interesting and I was desperate.
In one 45-minute session, the tapping knocked my anxiety level down from 10 to Zero. It was astonishing - and it stuck! This was a pivotal moment that changed my life for the better. I dove in, full-speed ahead, aiming to learn everything I could about EFT and energy healing. That knowledge and awareness continues to serve me well.
I will forever be grateful for that therapist.
She introduced me to Brad Yates, and I have tapped along to many of his You Tube videos. One of Brad's simplest, yet most powerful videos for emotional release is at right.
EFT and Ho'oponopono – Brad Yates 2:18
The last thing the therapist and I did that day was tap along to a simple, yet profound, prayer - Ho'oponopono (Hawaiian practice of reconciliation and forgiveness). The short tap-along video above combines EFT and Ho'oponopono.
It doesn't have to be complicated. A little bit of tapping can shift your perspective on just about anything.
I encourage you to open your mind and give this a try.
